Role and main activities of the beneficiaries
Ente Parco Nazionale dell'Aspromonte: co-ordination and general management of the project, reintroduction of the red kite, activation of feeding areas for the red kite, awareness-raising for tourists and residents, monitoring of the new red kite population, dissemination of good practices for the conservation of the red kite.
CEN-Corse: protection of endangered nests, involvement of local authorities and landowners in the protection of sensitive sites, awareness-raising of residents and tourists, monitoring of the red kite population.
E-Distribuzione S.p.A.: isolation of 250 supports of medium voltage power lines in the Aspromonte National Park, symposium on line safety for birdlife.
Regione Calabria: management of the documentation and process for the establishment of a SPA (Special Protection Area for Avifauna) in the reintroduction area of the red kite.
