Measures for the conservation of the red kite in Calabria (Italy) and Corsica (France)
The LIFE MILVUS project was set up to promote the conservation of one of the world's most beautiful birds of prey: the red kite.
Having almost completely disappeared from the skies over Calabria (Italy), the red kite is being reintroduced into the Aspromonte National Park, where numerous concrete actions are being carried out to ensure its return and to encourage other bird species.
In Corsica (France), efforts are being made to conserve the nesting and feeding areas of the red kite, particularly in the Regino Valley (Balagne) and the Ajaccio area, where this species is an integral part of the charming landscape, a mosaic of pastures and agricultural areas.
